"VA Banshee's Cry"

What is a Banshee?

Banshee's come from the faerie family and are the darkest form of them. Banshee's are beings that predict death, their scream can be heard from miles away and can even pop a skull. In Ireland it is believed that those who have the gift of music and singing are protected by the spirits; one, the Spirit of Life, which is prophecy, whose people are called "fey" and have the gift of Sight; the other, the Spirit of the Curse who reveals the secrets of bad luck and death, and for this tragic messenger the name is Banshee. Banshee's appear primarily in one of three guises: a young girl, a woman, or a ragged person. This represents the triple aspect of the Celtic goddess, Morrigan. of the wind and has the tone of a human voice as well as being audible from a great distance. Though not always seen, its moan is heard, usually at night when someone is about to die. The banshee can also appear in various other forms, such as a crow, an ermine, a hare or a weasel – animals associated in Ireland with witchcraft.
